John Mackie wakes up very early to make incredible custom-to-order breakfasts and our boxed lunches with homemade snacks are unlike any you’ve experienced on a fishing trip.

South Fork Lodge Fly Shop is a full-service fly shop and retail store located next door to the South Fork Lodge (currently under construction). We specialize in guided fly fishing trips on the South Fork of The Snake River. Whether you’re an experienced angler, have never cast a fly rod before, or simply want to experience Eastern Idaho’s rugged beauty, we guarantee a memorable experience. South Fork Lodge Outfitters is the region's largest and most popular fly shop, offering a huge selection of flies and a wide range of outdoor merchandise. We have the best guides anywhere and our knowledgeable staff is happy to offer assistance and provide valuable advice regarding local conditions and regional activities. Per-person rate for guided fishing is based on double occupancy in a two-customer, one guide drift boat. Guided fishing starts at $850 per boat. For more information, please give us a call 208-483-2112.
We will make every effort to accommodate requests on the day of the Guided Fishing Trip, but please note that due to the nature of our Outfitting permits, we cannot guarantee specific river sections and can only note requests.

Our newly-renovated lounge “The Machete Bar” boasts an extensive whiskey collection and one of the region’s finest wine lists. Mixologist Sadie Montana Grusin creates locally-focused cocktails you’ll never forget. The Machete Bar pays tribute to stuntman Evel Knievel, whose pinball machine survived the jump and is ready to play. No quarters necessary.

We welcome corporate retreats where the only distractions are the sound of a rushing river and calls from the local population of bald eagles. Productive group sessions and amazing fishing experiences go hand in hand. Or so we’ve heard.
River Camp at
South Fork Lodge
For those seeking more adventure, consider an overnight stay at our exclusive campsite in the canyon. With wood-floored tents, real beds with sheets and pillows and comforters and everything, great food and a designated camp host, our riverside outpost allows you to experience the natural beauty of the Snake River first-hand without sacrificing service or comfort (assuming you find comfort in an outhouse). There are four tents with room for eight guests.
After a day of netting trout, your luggage will be waiting tentside as your camp host greets you with appetizers and drinks. Once you are settled, gather for dinner cooked over a campfire, followed by an opportunity to fish the evening hatch. In the morning, campers enjoy coffee and a freshly-cooked breakfast while guides restock coolers with lunches and drinks for another day of fishing. With no drive to an access point, fishing starts the moment you climb into the boat! Your luggage will travel safely back to the lodge while you spend the rest of the day fishing the bottom half of the canyon. River Camp is a big hit with groups of friends, couples and families alike.
